The specification of works is not supported by the report of a person competent in arboriculture and therefore there has been no appropriate arboricultural reason offered in support of the works applied for.

 

I am content that works are required to the tree to maintain it appropriately, but the amounts of canopy suggested for removal in totality exceed the maximum permitted volume extensively.

 

The removal of canopy dead wood is exempt from application and can be carried out.

 

I would be happy to see the tree crown raised but no height of lifting has been offered and certainly a limited amount of canopy reduction would be acceptable but not 25%.

 

Crown thinning specifically is not considered good arboricultural practice and would not normally be granted consent.

 

I suggest that either the applicant supply appropriate supporting information or that the application is refused consent.
